Having won a prize at Gardenstock (see below) we were invited to reprise out performance on the last night of the festival. Unfortunately Max and Dolmere can't make it, but I'll be accompanying Mimi on some of her songs. It's the first time I've accompanied her, but anything with Mimi involved is always good fun. As before, the show is at Rezzable Design, and we'll be playing on Monday, 23 June 2008 at 2pm SLT. I hope to see you all there (is anybody reading this? lol).

TheSixtyOne 06/17/2008

I posted a new track on thesixtyone website yesterday, "In The Heat Of The Sun". There's more information about it on the Tracks page.

thesixtyone is an interesting phenomena. For quite a few years now I've put my tracks on the internet, but only had a few people listen to them. The number of plays seemed to be far more about how active I was on a forum, rather than the quality of the music. Obviously some of the bumps I get on thesixtyone are because people know me, or because they've heard me play live, but I like to think that some is on merit too. I particularly appreciate it when someone takes the trouble to leave comments.

When you buy into music, it's a complicated mix of image, fashion and sound, and has as much to do with marketing as musical ability. However, I just enjoy the creaive process, and if other people like the results, then that's great too.

New Music Player 06/11/2008

I've decided to change the music player on this site, because the previous one seem to be very slow to appear. This time I'm trying a widget player from Reverbnation, as recomended by Grace McDunnough. You'll find it on the Tracks page. It's a very neat player, and it provides me with a bewildering amount of statistics. I deleted my Imeem page (I don't think anyone will notice) because I don't like to leave litter on the net. I'll be loosing access to my Wusik/DivideByZero page too soon, so my new music will probably appear here.

As a result of putting tracks on thesixtyone website, I've had the most attention ever. But I do like having my own advert free site (thanks Weebly!), where I've got total control. We'll see how it goes......

Despite a few technical blips, the four-way streamchaining event with Mimi Carpenter, Dolmere Talamasca and Maximillion Kleene went really well. We had amazing support from the audience, and everyone had a great time. The sixty minutes flew by and the event was a great success.

And guess what? We won the public vote too (thanks everyone!). Details here: http://rezzable.com:80/blog/vint-falken/t61-party-gardenstock-the-publics-favourites

I'd like to pass on our thanks to the organisers (Vint Falken, Suka Nishe, and everyone else concerned) for making this such a well organised and fun event.

The fabulous JellyJellyJelly Benelli has invited me to streamchain with her at the Canada Day Concerts  organised by my friend Bree Birke, taking place at Nitida Ridge. Jelly plays terrific acoustic blues and melodic songs that I love to jam along with.

So, I'll be an honouary Canadian for the day, or at least for an hour from 2pm SLT (10pm UK time).

In a couple of days I'll be streamchaining with my friends Mimi Carpenter, Dolmere Talamasca and Maximillion Kleene and TheSixtyOne Bump Party. The event takes place on Saturday, 7 June 2008, and we'll be playing for an hour at 1pm SLT (9pm UK time). The stage is at Gardenstock in the Garden of NPIRL Delights, Rezzable Design (229, 86, 21). Please come along if you can.

Streamchaining is a strange phenonmenon, because you can't here the people in the chain after you. But it's a great opportunity for musicians to play together, and it's huge fun too!

In an effort to keep my webpage fresh, I thought I'd try blogging. I'll use this space to provide news, information, express opinions, and hopefully have a few laughs too. Here goes!
